Top eight for the month of January 2013, with my top 30 under the cut with comments.
- As stated last Friday, Entombed are my new favorite band. Killer rock and roll with a death metal twist. I’m way late to this party and not super happy about it.
- Steely “Fucking” Dan. Need I say more?
- I haven’t listened to Budgie for a hot minute, but man did I go on a marathon listen this week.
- Really glad to see Dropdead making the top for the month, as I’ve been raging to them for almost 20 years now.
- Dishammer on the top FIVE for the month? Really? Do they even have that many songs?
- Burning Leather are apparently a slow burn band, no pun intended, as they barely ever crack the top eight for the week, but made it in a respectable sixth place for the month.
- I listened to Doom walking to and from the grocery store one day and that apparently put them in seventh for the month.
- I feel like I listen to way more Darkthrone than I actually do. I wonder where these guys will be placed at the spring equinox for the top bands for winter 2012-13.
